Bio

Estudio Cristina Grappin is an architecture firm focused on developing projects that demonstrate a profound understanding of their social and natural contexts. The studio operates under the conviction that architecture and design can function as tools to comprehend, navigate, and transform our surroundings, espousing an approach that favors collaborative and inclusive processes over authorial gestures.

Though each project is the result of a unique and specific exploration, the thread that runs through them is a predilection for atemporality — spaces which evoke history and create a sense of belonging through their material qualities.

Cristina Grappin founded her practice in 2021 after collaborating for 10 years as Principal Architect in Ezequiel Farca + Cristina Grappin Architecture & Design. A variety of her projects have been published in several journals such as Wallpaper, Metropolis, Architectural Digest, The LA Times, and Elle Decor magazine. Her work has been selected for The Record Houses (2020) by Architectural Record and has won architecture and design awards such as Best Restaurant Design from the Los Angeles Architectural Association and Top 50 Interior Architects from The Architect’s Newspaper. In 2018, Rizzoli Electa published a retrospective of her work, written by Philip Jodidio. In 2022 she was awarded Designer of the year by the magazine Elle Decoration Mexico.
